Artist's Comments

I wish the photos would could give justice to all the variations in color on the sculpture. It has a basal shifting of reds and ochres, with highlights of tans and yellow, drybrushed with copper on the top. Ah well - trust me...it looks cool ;) Not completely happy with the "oxidation" in some parts - but I can always go back and tweak it.

This was done originally for the Concordia Game-A-Thon art contest...but there weren't any other sculpture entries...so it never happened. Either way it was good practice, and considering it had to be created within the timeframe of Game-A-Thon, it was a nice way for me to see how long these things actually take. Granted...I picked a large-scaled...closed mouth dragon...rather than a snarling Black or tentacally Gold...

Approx. Time: 22 hours Sculpting, 3 hours painting

Wow, very cool! you got the plated look down pretty well, it blends into the face nicely. ^^ I love to see these things.

Badass, plain and simple. And being a lover of good ol' D&D, I have nothing but respect for this piece.

<_< Hell, I have the D&D Dragons poster sitting on my wall.

Regardless!! The piece itself: I like it. I definitely agree with you on the oxidation aspect of things... It could just be the way the camera tones things down a bit, but I can see how you can look at those parts as being not quite complete. All in all, though, it rocks.

It's really not that impressive. Rocks here...skulls there...books...empty coke cans...more books...my cat...art crap...did I mention books?
:iconjateui:
That is simply amazing
I love that detail o_o
It looks like it would have taken so much longer :o Awesome job!

That looks pretty sweet :)
If I could give one bit of critiscism though, I think it needs a wash of dark green or brown in to punch up the contrast and bring out the edges.
